Local Batik Business in Town!

Batik has been popular for decades. My mum loves Batik so much because she said that some Batik have one-off designs. So, you will never bump into someone with the same outfit the next time you attend a wedding. Since then, I grew interests in Batik. Here's my favourite one from Xean-Aman's collection of Batik. It's a handmade crepe silk Batik. I totally love the bright colour! And it's sold at a price everybody can afford. So, drop by Xean-Aman's blog to see more Batik.

Finally, I baked!

Bought the ingredients a while ago but didn't have the chance to actually make the cookies. I would be out with friends and family or the other half most of the time until last Monday when Nasir asked what my plans were for the next day. I had the urge to say, "I'm going to bake cookies." But I stopped myself halfway when I remembered the last time I replied him that sort of answer. I told him that I was going to bake but I never did. So, this time I said, " I don't know. No plans so far. Just stay home, I guess." And that's when he said, "Baiktah buat cookies since nada kan dibuat." I smiled and and replied, "Well, I'm going to but I just don't want to say it."

So here it is, the cookies I made with so much determination. A whole lot of 1400 grams of cookies. These cookies didn't make it to where it should have been sold. Once these cookies were out of the oven, my mum booked 400 grams of them. Then the next day, my Grandma called to book another 400 grams, my brother bought 200 grams as a gift for Meelah's mum and Zaty bought 200 grams for her mum and herself as well. And the last 200 grams of them ended up in my possession. I took a 100 grams portion to the movies and shared it with Nana. We were watching the Shopaholic movie together and had the cookies to munch on during the movie. Then the other 100 grams ended up as a gift for the other half as a "roomwarming" gift when I finally get to see his newly renovated room last Thursday. I had been holding up for so long because I didn't have a gift for his room. And when I finally agree to go back to his home to see his facelifted bedroom, I only had a tin of cookies as a gift. But I will get him a proper gift for his new bedroom soon, Insyallah! So, a total of 1200 grams of cookies are sold! Alhamdulillah!

Freshly baked Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies

Now, I have four boxes of cookies (which is equivalent to 2000 grams) to make by Saturday night. One box is ordered by Sunui, another box ordered by Zaty (for her boyfriend, Aliff) and another two boxes ordered by Uncle Faris. And a box of Uncle Faris' order will be going to KL with his twin brother, Uncle Harris. Thanks to all my supporting customers! I had a good start in my baking business with all of you.

Lush Product Series: Episode 2 - Hair

How to:
Work a small amount into a later and rinse thoroughly; follow up with a LUSH conditioner for soft tresses.

For lank and lifeless hair:
I Love Juicy Shampoo

A tropical fruit quencher shampoo to clarify and amp up the shine

Overflowing with fresh kiwi, pineapple and papaya juices, I Love Juicy is a tropical feast for your oily hair. Extra shine comes courtesy of lemon and orange essential oils and seaweed adds body. Finally, a shampoo that the oilies can't run from! Deliciously fruity and super shiny locks can be all yours with the flip of a cap so what are you waiting for?

Best Seller Bottled Shampoo:
Big Shampoo

Lemon-lime margarita shampoo adds shine and body to fine hair

The difference between a hefty, healthy hairdo and a lot of limp, lackluster locks? It's this saucy, sassy, salty shampoo! BIG combines shine-enhancing citrus juices with the beautifying, hair-buffing impact of sea salt and genuine sea water for a body-building regimen your fine hair won't sweat over. Good things can come in small packages, but for body-boosting boom you can't beat BIG!

How To:

Wet both hair and the shampoo bar. Glide the shampoo bar down the length of your hair about three times (right, left and back). You may need additional swipes depending on hair volume. Work into a lather and rinse thoroughly. Follow with LUSH conditioner. Keep your solid shampoo in a cool, dry place between uses; we recommend using a LUSH shampoo bar tin.

Best Seller Solid Shampoos:
Godiva Solid Shampoo

Jasmine Nirvana of a shampoo bar to cleanse condition and glorify

Godiva shampoo's luscious blend of exotic oils and cocoa butter leaves tresses so beautifully conditioned, silk would be envious! Though the legendary beauty who rode naked through Coventry is the inspiration for this bar, please exercise restraint if you find yourself a bit carried away and tempted to give a similar performance. (Though, a naked horseback ride would be quite a novel and somewhat environmentally-friendly way to dry your hair...)

Karma Komba Solid Shampoo

Citrus and patchouli keep hair bouncy and tangle free

Karma Komba (pronounced "comber" as in beach) is fine for all hair types. It deep cleans and de-tangles hair, making it easier to comb (or komb) and is perfumed with our sensual Karma fragrance of citrus and patchouli. Its blend of essential oils is wonderful for toning your scalp and balancing sebum production. Now proudly SLS-free.

For storage:
Shampoo Bar Tin

Happy home for wayward shampoo pucks

Shampoo bars last longer if you give them a waterproof home to nest in. So we've created a tin for just this purpose. LUSH shampoo tins also hold our facial cleansers and other minimally packaged goodies.

How To:
Great for travel, pop in any solid shampoo bar, snap on the top, and you're good to go. Staying home? The tin helps your shampoo bar last longer!

How To:
Moisten the bar under warm water, then slide it gently along the length of your wet hair in long, top-to-bottom strokes. Massage it in with your fingertips as you would a conventional conditioner. Rinse thoroughly and revel in the results.

Best Seller Conditioner:
Jungle Conditioner

Freshly-picked tropical fruit tames easily tangled hair

With a sweet, grassy scent, Jungle solid hair conditioner is resplendent with exotic nurturing ingredients like cocoa butter, avocados, figs, bananas, passion fruit and kumquats. It imparts a beautiful texture to over-treated and undernourished hair so straight tresses end up shining bright and curly hair can bounce with vitality.

How To:

Apply generously to dry hair, leave on for 20 to 30 minutes, then shampoo out. Use about a quarter of a pot for short hair, or about half a pot for longer hair. Those with very long hair should use the whole pot. (Yes, it is a lot, but the effects are long lasting and well worth the investment.)

Best Seller Hair Treatment:
H'Suan Wen Hua Hair Treatment

Nourishes hungry, dry, out-of-condition hair

Named after the Cantonese god of hair, H'Suan Wen Hua gives unrivalled softness to dry or curly hair. This leave-in treatment smells a bit like salad dressing which is one of the reasons why it's best to wash it out thoroughly. But after it's soaked right in, swamping your locks with vitamin-rich watercress, protein-packed free range eggs, mucilaginous bananas and nutritious avocados, you'll forgive its funny smell.

How To:
Apply with your fingers to wet or dry hair, then blow-dry, scrunch or set your style. Use it to lift and revive dry hair any time of the day or night.

If I were to buy, my choice would be:
King Of Mods Styling Gel

Soft-hold gel fragranced with stimulating grapefruit and lime

King of the Mods is a soft hold gel to give a bouncy boost to your hair. We make it with eight-percent almond and camellia oils (the one that sumo wrestlers use to keep their long, dark hair soft, supple and in control) so it's good for your scalp, your hair and your look. King's grapefruit and lime scent is also great for waking you up in the morning.

How To:
1. Cut henna up into small pieces and put in a heatproof bowl.
2. Add hot water and let steep. Mix to a yogurt-like consistency.
3. Put on gloves and apply from back to front, coating hair thoroughly.
4. Cover in cling wrap for a more vibrant red. Leave on for one to six hours.
5. Rinse, shampoo, and condition hair.
Tips: Always do a strand test first. Use face cream (or Ultra Bland) around your hairline and ears to protect skin. Wrap hair in cling film for a redder color. For darker, richer colors, leave on longer (up to six hours).

If I were to buy, my choice would be:
Caca Noir Mama Henna Hair

For deep, blue-black or dark burgundy hair

Caca Noir (as in black) is for the darkest effect possible. Its combination of indigo with just a touch of red henna that gives a blue tint to your hair if the henna is allowed to air dry, or a redder hue if you cover your hair in plastic wrap. Cocoa butter helps the Caca stick to hair which means that you get more shine than with your average henna powder. Spicy clove bud oil is used in India for love potions but we use it to make your hair smell lovely.

Lush Product Series: Episode 1 - Bath & Shower

How To:

Fill tub with warm water, drop in the bath bomb and enjoy its lovely color and fragrance. Some LUSH bath bombs contain flower petals and or other surprises. If you prefer not to have them floating in your tub, wrap the bath bomb in a nylon before use. To make your experience even more memorable, combine a bath bomb with a bath melt.

Best Seller Bath Bombs:
Fizzy O'Therapy

Spicy ginger and clove bud relieve aching muscles

When you're feeling the strain, Fizzy O'Therapy provides warming comfort to aching muscles, creaking joints and sore feet. Imagine a warm bath fizzing with ginger, cloves, cinnamon and coriander; it's almost worth spending a couple of hours in the pool, or in the gym lifting weights, to justify immersing yourself in Fizzy's spicy, soothing bath-soup. (But you don't have to. Use one whenever you feel you need warming comfort.) Follow up with a Therapy massage bar rub for a calm and relaxed body.

Butterball Bath Bomb

A very vanilla soak to lull your skin into soft submission

Get ready for a hot one. Butterball's flecks of cocoa butter melt into a tubful of soothing deliciousness to make skin soft and supple. The vanilla musk fills your bathroom with a light, sweet bouquet while your skin basks in its moisturizing embrace and your senses sigh with pleasure. You deserve it; so slide into a buttery bath with Butterball.

How To:

Crumble under running warm water as you fill the tub. The amount you need to use will vary but this bar usually yields three to four baths. The stronger your water pressure, the more bubbles you will make; we encourage experimentation for best results. To get the most out of your bubble bars, keep them in a cool, dry place.

Best Seller Bubble Bar:
Karma Bubble Bar

Eastern spice and orange bubble bath spread light and love all over the place

If you've searched in vain for a fragrance with meaning; something meant to be worn forever rather than discarded with last season's fashions, then Karma could be just right for you. It has a spicy Far Eastern influence, with traditional European lavender and a splash of light orange dancing around in there somewhere. Once struck, you'll want it in every form that exists. Here it is as a bubble bar.

How To:

Drop half or a whole bath melt into the tub as it fills with warm water. When the tub is full, get in and let the natural oils soften and moisturize your skin. Bath melts are designed to melt at body temperature so keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Best Seller Bath Melt:
Dreamtime Bath Melt

Reassuring lavender and chamomile calm your senses before bed

Drifting off into a peaceful sleep has never been easier than after a warm bath with a Dreamtime bath melt. Its natural moisturizers help to soften your skin while lavender, jasmine, sandalwood and chamomile help you relax and get ready for bed. Sweet dreams!

How To:

Use in the shower or bath for delectably soft skin. Store in a well drained soap dish and keep dry between uses. Due to the amount of natural butters they contain, buttercreams melt easily so be sure to keep them away from heat sources. Try chilling or freezing buttercreams for an especially refreshing experience.

If I were to buy, my choice of Buttercream will be:
Emperor of Ice Cream Buttercream

Orange blossoms and mangos luxuriously nourish and cleanse skin

The Emperor of Ice Cream cleansing buttercream has rich macadamia nut oil, mango butter and magnificently expensive rose and jasmine absolutes. We wrap it only in vine leaves because it makes your skin feel so lovely you'll want to walk around naked. The Emperor of Ice Cream is named after a poem by Wallace Stephens. We decided to take the title and create a cleansing buttercream with only the finest ingredients fit for a king.

How To:

Shower jellies are one of our most innovative products and there are many fun ways to use them. You can crush them into a shower pouf to create a rich lather or rub them directly on your body. Try freezing (or chilling) them for an especially cool, refreshing shower or bath experience. Shower jellies also make great shampoos and add lots of softness and shine to hair.

If I were to buy, my choice of Shower Jelly will be:
Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly

Berry blast jelly cleanser leaves skin smelling delicious

Sweetie Pie cleansing shower jelly is made specially to smell like donuts and cherry muffins. We pour tantalizing blackcurrant and bergamot essential oils into a mixture of coconut infusion and skin softening seaweed jelly, along with a helping of purifying cypress oil. We add our secret jelly mixture then mash in sour cherries to give the sweetness a darker side. If you love the smell of You Snap The Whip but prefer to treat yourself less harshly, then Sweetie Pie is the jelly for you.

How To:

Place one on the floor of your shower under the water flow. As the warm water hits the emotibomb, it fizzes and surrounds you in a cloud of fragrant steam. For a sensory overload, wash with a complementary shower gel or piece of fresh handmade soap.

Best Seller Emotibomb:
Sex In The Shower Emotibomb

Cheeky ginger-scented fun in the shower

Going green is near and dear to our hearts so something like Sex in the Shower that encourages people to share the shower and conserve water is a very fine thing indeed. As the warm water touches its surface, wafts of sensual ginger entwine themselves around you. Reach for a bar of soap and wash your partner all over; just remember to turn the water off while you're in a lather. It's important to act responsibly in the shower.
